Minutes of December 7th, 2002

Meeting begins 7th December 2002, 2.22pm.
Alive and Feisty: Tony Chu, Michael Martin, Danny Tom, Christina Yau, Joe Epstein, Yuhan Chen, Eugene Chung, Gregory Chew.

First, events on the horizon:
1. Second Harvest --
Community Service event, on 21st December 2002 from 8am to 12pm, in San Jose. Contact Yuhan for carpooling from East Bay. So far 8 or 10 people responded.

2. Stanford Panel --
Talk to fresh, young Stanford undergrads about Life, The Universe, and Everything. Refer to Bernie's E-vite for further details.

And over the rainbow:
3. Ski Trip? --
Possibly at the beginning of February 2003. Yuhan will send out an E-vite gauging interest.

4. Banq...Social Dinner --
This is to be a fairly large affair, to get members together, draw in new members etc. Set for around March 2003. Tentatively will be at Hong Kong Flower Lounge in Millbrae. Other restaurant ideas welcome.

5. Rebuilding Together --
Come lay the foundations for a better life...literally! April 2003, more details to follow later.

6. Ice-skating --

7. Trip to Chocolate Factory --
???

And now the reports:

Tony is making progress on the web site. We should have something soon.

The picnic went fairly well, although there are some kinks in the organisation and timing of it. It was fun, and we'd like to make this a regular event, and get the undergraduate chapters more involved. Also it should be better timed so as not to overlap with EIT.

Project reports are being compiled for submission next year. Yuhan to collaborate with Bernie on the CA Alpha Alumnus Panel report. Second Harvest report soon to come once Second Harvest has occurred.

We'd like more activities, to get members more involved and draw in new ones. Previous events have thus far met with mixed success. The idea is to have many small-scale events suitable for about 10 people, and one or two chapter-wide events to rally people together. An example of the latter would be the Social Dinner. So any activity suggestions are welcome right now.

And finally, we should have more advanced warning of meetings in the future. The next one tentatively will be on January 25th or February 1st 2003.
